Meet Albertus

Albertus is weird. Even the other monsters think so, and that’s saying something. He knows he looks peculiar, and he’s quite aware that people tend to stare at him, whisper about him, or suddenly remember they have somewhere else to be. He used to find it upsetting. These days, he mostly finds it irritating.

He’s quiet, clever and occasionally rather grumpy. He doesn’t waste much time trying to impress people, and he’s developed a particularly effective stare for anyone who asks stupid questions. Unfortunately, this hasn’t done much to improve his popularity.

But Albertus notices things about people that others miss. He can tell when someone’s worried, when they’re pretending to be happy, or when they need a friend but don’t know how to ask. He doesn’t make a fuss about it. He’ll simply turn up when he’s needed, usually with a slightly annoyed expression.

Albertus has finally found a place in the Tribe where he can be as peculiar as he likes. He’s even rather proud of being the only Albertus in the universe. Although he wouldn’t mind having a few more friends.
