Meet Wayne

Wayne knows everybody. And if he doesn’t know you yet, he soon will. He’s funny, confident, ridiculously charming, and has a wonderful talent for bringing people together. He knows who needs introducing to whom, and how to make even the shyest newcomer feel welcome. He’s also MammaSteena’s favourite wingman when she’s meeting new monsters.

Wayne originally came to Earth because he had an enormous crush on a beautiful monster called Jasmine. When she went down the Monster Slide, he followed without a second thought. He hadn’t considered what Earth might be like, or whether he’d ever get home again. He just wanted to be wherever Jasmine was. The romance never quite happened, but they’re good friends now, and Wayne has settled comfortably into life on Earth.

But sometimes, when everyone has gone home, Wayne finds himself with nobody in particular to talk to. It’s a strange thing, knowing so many people and not being quite sure who to call. On evenings like that, he usually goes to see MammaSteena. She always puts the kettle on.
